What it is: Helps sell technical products by explaining how they work.
Skills you already use: solving technical problems, working from drawings and specifications, testing and documenting, explaining technical work.
Your route in: Strong product knowledge plus demos and customer calls. Many of the postings we found are for software, and travel can reach half the time.
Good to know: Often asks for some related experience or a credential.
One step away
Usually needs a little training, a portfolio or a new tool.
Uncharted
Not standard jobs. You would pitch, freelance or start these. No postings are behind them, so expect more work and less certainty.
Worth checking: Signing off designs stays with licensed engineers. Check what each job needs. Many 'remote' engineering postings are really hybrid or need site visits. Working remotely doesn’t change engineering licence rules. Check with your state or provincial regulator before offering engineering work.
Some of these are our suggestions, based on skills you share, not jobs we found postings for. Read a few real postings before you rely on any idea.
